Could any of you kind people provide a recommendation for 2 or 3 thrift shops in Seattle, preferably in the Wallingford area? I am looking for some burner goodies. Thanks.

Tue, June 16, 2009 - 3:30 PMCan I recommend going to Tacoma? It's totally full of thrift stores and reasonably priced "vintage" stores. -

Tue, June 16, 2009 - 9:18 PMTacoma is not a bad idea and it is much closer to me than Seattle. Thanks for the tip. Now why didn't I think of that. -

Re: Thrift Shops
Wed, June 17, 2009 - 11:44 AMMy favorite for clothes is Thrift Cirty, 904 72ND ST E TACOMA WA 98404. My favorite for random non-clothing crap is the St. Vincent DePaul, which I'm having trouble finding on the google map. I also really dig Bargain World near Ruston 4502 N Pearl St Tacoma, WA 98407. Also, down on Commerce I believe some of the vintage shops have awesome stuff. It's where I've always gotten my sunglasses. For 8 bucks I can always find the most rockin sunglasses imaginable, usually ones with really good lenses that protect my eyes and make me feel like I'm wandering through a post-apocalyptic wonderland. Anyhow, happy hunting! -

Re: Thrift Shops
Fri, June 19, 2009 - 3:08 PMWe love that Value Village! There's also the Goodwill at 8th Ave and 65th St.
If you don't mind widening your search there's a GW at 15th Ave and 145th St. There's a V V on Lake City Way, and Lynnwood has both a GW and a V V. I highly recommend the GW Distribution Center Downtown as well as the GW on Dearborn. -

Wed, June 24, 2009 - 1:39 PMWhat about garage sales? Oh man we've scored some good stuff for burning man just driving around from sale to sale. I can't wait. -

Wed, June 24, 2009 - 2:23 PMI like the garage sale idea. But I tend to buy things I don't need because I couldn't afford not to buy.
